The Diary Game: Back to Work. 15 October 2025steemCreated with Sketch.

I haven’t returned to writing a diary for quite some time, and I’m a bit guilty before myself for that, because I once promised that I would record most of the events of my life. Well... not most, but many. Anyway, it’s time to get back to working on my diary a bit more.

My vacation just ended, it was the Sukkot holiday, and I had 10 days off work. Not that it was total rest, when I just sat at home or went out for walks every day. No. It was a variety of things I’d been putting off, things I hadn’t had time for, and I finally got around to them little by little. Plus, we made a couple of family trips for walks, and I had a pretty good time. But today I’m back to work.

I admit it was hard to wake up early. I’d gotten used to waking up at a little different time. But there’s nothing to be done. A quick breakfast - my wife and I grabbed two sandwiches each with coffee, and off I went. It’s not so hot outside anymore. You can feel the autumn chill. Heavy dew covers everything around.. The weather still allows me to go out in a T-shirt, it’s still warm enough. But there’s already a clear hint of autumn in the air. As soon as I got onto the highway, landscape unfolding before me reminded me more and more of the approaching cold. Heavy clouds stretched across the sky. They were no longer those snow-white cotton clouds you see in summer, and even then not every summer day is cloudy. These were soaked with moisture. I managed to leave on time, so I didn’t get caught in traffic, didn’t hit the morning jams, and got to work relatively quickly, it's took only half an hour.

I work in an eye clinic. Despite having a ton of work on the first day back, two employees didn’t show up because they caught the coronavirus. It gave me a flashback as if I’d been thrown back to 2020. But no, I don’t think there’ll be an epidemic again, and no restrictionsf will be introduced. Nowadays, people get this infection like they get the flu.Stay home for a few days, then back to work. Still, I wouldn’t mind going back to 2020.

During the day, I didn’t have a single minute to continue writing. The day turned out to be quite intense. At the end of the day, I picked up my wife so we could go together to the supermarket to buy some meat, since on Friday we’re planning to have a barbecue in the forest with my mother and brother. It’s been a very long time since we’ve had such get-togethers, and I plan to have a good time. It’s very hard to agree on anything with my brother. Not just about the barbecue, about anything. As soon as I told him what kind of gathering it would be and in what format, he immediately started whining: “Oh, there are a lot of flies and wasps now, and it’s still hot. And let’s not do it in the morning.” For God’s sake, we’re going to see each other! Won’t positive energy kill all the flies and wasps and cool the heat? Apparently not.

I suppose that’s where I’ll wrap it up. I didn’t manage to add any sarcasm, humor, or charisma to today’s entry. But we’ve still got plenty ahead.

Thanks for your attention!

I don’t usually enjoy reading diarygame posts on this platform - most of them start with “At 6 a.m. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and…” you know the rest. But yours actually had substance - it wasn't boring though I expected a bit of sarcasm or humour at some point. :-))

Nice photos!

Got you. I don’t write about this that often or in such detail... But I’ll keep it in mind 👌🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the comment :)
