FEAR AND CONSERVATISM or how to strengthen political power
When we experience anxiety, we become more inclined to maintain established views. Because of fear, we are less willing to take risks and prefer to rely on tried and tested solutions and actions.
For example, after a series of terrorist attacks, people seek protection from the state. In turn, political power can artificially create a situation to instill fear in citizens and then offer solutions aimed at their salvation, thereby increasing ratings and trust in the government.
