Reuniting With My Cousin at a Vineyard North of Napa
As it turns out my cousin Jamie, who grew up near me in the D.C. area, lives in Sacramento now, just an hour away from my location near Vallejo! We reacquainted with a trip to Sterling Vineyards which is in Calistoga, CA, north of Napa. A gondola awaited us for a ride up to where all the wine is housed. I woulda hiked up to the wine--hell, anything for a smooth Pinot noir with notes of A-minor, but gondola-ing is the preferred method of wine-procuring transport.
We had about 7 tastings (all for free 'cause my housemate works there) and found ourselves at ease.
Then on the gondola down....
