One Foot in Front of the Other 5/10/2018 - Coping With Stress While Off to a Wedding!
Good Evening!
As I mentioned before, I got myself into a bit of a bind with my work. I ended up only getting a couple hours of sleep and still had to bust my butt all day to get it done, but hey, at least it's done... Granted, I may have upset a couple higher ups in the process, but here's hoping I can make them forget about it quickly by doing a better job next time! All in all, I am just happy to be finished with that project. It has been the bane of my existence for the past 5-6 months, so seeing it finally finished up just makes me want to say "good riddance!"
On a much happier note (well, being done with that project forever is a fairly happy note I suppose...), my brother is getting married in two days! I know I mentioned this before, but it is a rather exciting moment for our family. In addition to our sincerest happiness for him and his soon-to-be-bride, it will be nice to see family members that we only get to see on rare occasions. I'll have to talk more on this later though, since we need to get on the road and head south shortly. I will probably try to wrap this one up a bit more quickly than the previous two entries, but I still wanted to make sure I continued with my goal and got my post in.
Something a bit new, my son has decided he wants to have a Batman birthday cake and party. Part of me is thrilled, while at the same time, I cannot help but wonder if he only wants it since I threw the suggestion out there (to be fair, I listed 2 or 3 other options as well). You see, he really does seem to like batman, or at least his batman PJ's seem to be his favorites. However, I just cannot help but wonder if he actually likes Batman, or if he just thinks he does due to his mom and I talking about Batman in a positive light. Children really are fascinating, as they often act like a sponge, soaking up everything around them. Yet, at the same time, they are so imaginative, showing more originality and creativity in their pinky fingers than most adult's could squeeze out of their entire being. While I realize that this is probably pointless musing, I still find it intriguing to think about how many of his likes and interests are directly because of our influence as parents and how many of them are truly organic.
Random helpful tip or advice for the day? Hmm... I don't have anything in particular that stands out, but I'll try to share a little bit of knowledge that may not be too widely known. As far as the crypto community is concerned, there is a lot of excitement looming on the horizon. Goldman Sachs is opening a Bitcoin trading operation, and the New York Stock Exchange is looking to do more or less the same. In addition, several other big banks and financial entities are starting to pour money into the crypto market. While cryptocurrencies will always be risky, this is a pretty exciting time we are in! With the new influx of institutional funds, Bitcoin and others are only given more validity, further cementing their positions as something that is here to stay. I'm not a financial advisor, and this is not financial advice, but this year will probably be a great one for crypto, so if you have been on the fence as to whether or not you want to invest, right now is about as good a time as any to go for it (except for several weeks back when ETH was at <$400, that was a great time to buy, lol).
On that note, I'll go finish throwing clothes in a bag and head on out. I hope to hear from some of you and thank you for reading! Take care and God bless!
See you tomorrow,
Tim @tj5553
