“BUT to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies
the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.”
Romans 4:5 (NKJV)

The deeds of the law and circumcision cannot make one right with God. The consciences of those who are practicing the law cannot be purged or cleansed or purified by observing the law (Hebrews 9:9).

The law mainly was given that Man, or humans, might know his or her state. Through the law you would know or see how dirty or how unrighteous or how unworthy you are, but the law lacks the power to deliver you from that Sin which you found yourself in: "WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? IS THE LAW SIN? CERTAINLY NOT! On the contrary, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN SIN EXCEPT THROUGH THE LAW. FOR I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN COVETOUSNESS UNLESS THE LAW HAD SAID, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET" (Romans 7:7 NKJV).

"FOR WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT DO IN THAT IT WAS WEAK THROUGH THE FLESH, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: HE CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH."
Romans 8:3 (NKJV)

Thus, there is a need for a better covenant, because the old covenant is faulty (Hebrews 8:6,7). Every person who wanted to see God would have to come on the platform of Faith in the
substitutionary death and resurrection of Christ Jesus:
24 THEREFORE THE LAW WAS OUR TUTOR TO BRING US TO CHRIST, THAT WE MIGHT BE JUSTIFIED BY FAITH. 25 BUT AFTER FAITH HAS COME, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER A TUTOR. 26 FOR YOU ARE ALL SONS OF GOD THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS" (Galatians 3:24-26 NKJV).
