Falguni Nayar - My favorite Industrialist/Entrepreneur | Best of India Contest

This is my entry for the BOI Contest Favorite Entrepreneur post.

Falguni was born in a Gujarati family. Her father is a businessman so, the seeds of a business were planted into her mind at a young age, the business-related discussion was common in her house.
She completed her higher education at IIM, Ahmedabad. She spent almost 19 years in the banking sector. In 2012, she decided to quit her job and start an entrepreneurial journey.
She found that beauty was an untapped market in India.

So, in 2012 she founded Nykaa. Nykaa is primarily an e-commerce website that offers beauty and wellness products from all the leading brands like Lakme, Kaya skin clinic, L'Oreal Paris etc.
The brand primarily focuses on women empowerment and provides great career options for females.

“I wanted to replicate that in India — a multi-brand retailer selling the best beauty, plus a lot of education to help customers...I wanted to stand for those women who want to be beautiful for themselves, not for men or other women. Indian women were ready for that and that's why they related to Nykaa. It was a sort of empowerment.”- Falguni Nayar

The moral of her story is,
If you have a burning desire just start working on it and you'll achieve what you desire.
