Life on General Gurko Street, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

My neighbourhood of Gurko Street, my little slice of it -- the convenience store lady whose place of business was the size of a kiddie bedroom but was well-stocked. I loved walking down there on a daily basis, on the streets made with rock slabs, cobblestones and slate. It was an incredible six months of my life, a great time to adjust to new realities, a challenging language and just be able to abide.
