The Gorge

The weather has been beautiful this week.

I went and did some hiking down at Werribee Gorge, that is out west, of Melbourne.

It was a good walk. Going during the week means that I avoid the crazy crowds that rock up during the weekend.

I had planned to eat my lunch, read a book, to enjoy the day. However, my daily chores keeps my time pegged in. I had to pick the kids up in the arvo.

Good intro to Bush Walking

The Gorge is a good place to condition yourself to being "out and about".
The park is not big, the main walk is about 10 km long, with other shorter walks available.

There are enough gradients to test out your heart rate & risk areas are more related to people getting too close to edges of the few cliffs that are present.

There is a variety of interesting types of track, scenery & the walk along the river is one of the fun parts, particularly, the small cable rope, that you use to shimmy around a couple of simple rocks.

Nice people

I have met some nice people on my trekking. Either, to walk with, or to have a short conversation, or just a wave, and a "Hi".

It's always nice to impart some of my knowledge of the car parks & trails. If I see someone looking at the information board, then I always ask them, what level of adventure are they looking for, and provide some simple directions, as information boards are not all that easy to read.

I see a Koala, do you?
