@Honeydue Won a contest and is going to Steem Fest | Get to know her!

in #busy6 years ago (edited)
@sndbox and @blocktrades organized the #SteemFastForward Contest and they are sponsoring @honeydue with a ticket and accommodation in Krakow in November during the Steem Fest Celebration.

Now, winning a Steem Fest ticket is one of the best things that can happen to a Steemian, I know that because I won one of these contests a year ago. I guess that´s mainly the reason I wanted to help organize these contests and help out a lucky Steemian.

Anyway, if you don´t know @honeydue is, here is a brief intro about her and her #RoadtoSteemFest. Make sure to follow her, she is an amazing content creator and creative Steemian!

Hey @honeydue, tell us who you are and a bit about your Steem Life

If you follow my blog, you know me, by now, or at least, you know the part of my life I choose to disclose to this community (which I've noticed is increasingly large, you know? It's very weird, but I find I've painted a pretty good picture of myself here).
And so, you've seen into my head. With my fiction, you've seen some pretty dark places of me and in my writing about life, I've talked about many challenges that came up, personal victories, feelings and all that jazz.

I'm 19, I love losing myself in stories and made-up worlds. Maybe that's why I like Steemit so much – because in a sense, it is a sort of made up world... I try to fill my corner of the platform with interesting things, be they stories or thoughts on life.

Why do you want to go to Steem Fest?

I want to go to SteemFest because in the past year, Steem has become like a family to me. I speak more freely to some of the people here than I do my real life friends and I think that's saying something. I want to learn more about crypto, as I don't know all that much, but most of all I want to meet other Steemians – that is the main event, to me. Also, it's travel and that's amazing, I love to travel, always have, and I've never been to Poland and to be honest, going to Steemfest sounds like a pretty good reason to go.

What are your expectations about Poland, Steem Fest and the whole event'

I think the whole thing will be fun. I've come to the conclusion that we need more fun experiences in
our lives and meeting so many interesting people has to be fun, you know? And I think it will be exciting – it's always exciting encountering different mindsets and cultures (and the fact that I've known some of these people for over a year makes it even better). And as I said, I hope to learn at least a few new things about the blockchain.

Are you going for business or pleasure?

Both. It's impossible to go just for one, I think. Although I'm tempted to say pleasure – and clearly, there will be a lot of that – there's also business involved in our Steemit universe, isn't there? After all, we all came here in the hope of making some extra cash. You know the saying 'you come for the money, you stay for the community'? Well, that explains it precisely and I think it's the same with Steemfest. I think it can be an investment in my future on the platform as well as my career as a writer. But I also think it's going to be a very pleasurable experience. It's going to be a very interesting party, I believe.

Tell us three fun facts about you

A. I'm having trouble writing under my own name
When I joined Steemit, I was relieved to find you could set up any name you wanted. I don't know why, but the idea of writing under my own given name was horrifying to me...it still is kinda weird. I'm thinking about entering a writing contest under my own name, as opposed to my pen name Honey Due.
And it freaks me out. I'm like 'but she doesn't write'. I have a feeling Steemit has given me a multiple personality and honestly, I really want to know if my other self (my “real” self as it were) has the same writing abilites as I do.
Because if she doesn't, well, she'd better make herself useful in some other way, you know? Otherwise, I'm kicking her out! Or charging rent...

B. I'm a secret photographer
I'm not sure but I think it was seeing @tarazkp's photos on here that turned me on to photography.
I even take pictures in secret, like a few weeks ago, I went out to meet with a cousin I hadn't seen in a really long time and when she went to the toilet, I quickly took out my phone and snapped a picture of an armchair that was there...you know, the weirdest things. I often take pictures in secret, when I'm out with friends, 'cause then they'd think I had an issue if they saw me.
Speaking of friends, I'm awful to walk with because I love taking nature pics (well, I love taking any pics) and I will constantly trail off or wander away to snap a few shots.
They'll often find themselves talking to nobody in particular, because I'm several steps back, probably squatting in some bushes trying to capture the next Warhol.

C. I'm a coffee addict.
I've been drinking coffee for a long time now and at some point, I think it just lost effect on me. Friends often laugh at me because I drink it like water in the sense that it does nothing to me, most times.
For me, it's just the joy of having a good cup of coffee. I think I get it from my mom. One of the first things on my mind like ever is how am I going to find coffee? She's the same.
And it kinda transforms your world. Like I think about what I'll do and having a cup of coffee, for me, is something to look forward to, a lovely treat. So in case, I do make it to Steemfest3 (fingers crossed), don't act surprised when you see me gulping down an enormous cup of coffee!

Thank you :)

Congrats, you deserve it @honeydue!

Oww thanks <3

Fair play. There's some effort gone into some of those posts.

Good idea to support the younglings too. What with all those bleak economic prospects out there!
