The Need To Have A Warrior Mindset And Points To Condition Oneself

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

We are all surrounded by uncertainty and that can arrive by any means in any form any time. So, the need to be prepared for it is absolutely necessary. Before tapping into your warrior mind its imperative to identify a warrior mindset. The word "warrior" sometimes conjures a mental image of a belligerent, brutal and aggressive personality. In reality, a warrior is focused, patient, disciplined, determined and balanced. They respect others but not be fearful of them.

A warrior mind is helpful in combating external threats and surviving internal, psychological trauma. We are all indoctrinated into thinking we are unable to make a difference, or worse, that any attempt to overcome impediments is futile so we simply give up without even giving it a shot. As a result we develop a herd mentality unwilling to do what we must in order to make a change in our lives.

Having the proper mindset is an absolutely critical component in any survival situation. It is a deciding factor between being a victim or the victor in a showdown. There is a big difference between being a fighter and a warrior. A fighter is willing to follow orders and the rules up until the point when they don't. They are not fully committed.

A warrior is willing to commit to their decision no matter what the outcome, even if it means they may be wounded or even killed in the process.

Most parents, for example, would be willing to lay down their life for their kids to protect them without a second thought. That is total commitment. Warriors have the same mindset; they are willing to do whatever it takes in order to win any fight, and you must also develop the same mindset as it applies to any dangerous situation you may find yourself in.

Mind-Strengthening Exercises and Concepts.

The first thing you must do is force yourself to take out some “quiet time” for your mind allowing it to focus and visualize things you wish to do or say or be. Just 10 or 20 minutes a day can bring about massive results.
The mind of the warrior should be clear and able to perceive their surroundings without distraction. It must be relaxed but watchful; determined but untroubled. This is the goal of the warrior, and it must be your goal as well. Don’t get bogged down in details, remember – ready, shoot, aim! So, here are some points to condition oneself:

1. Attentive Curiosity – calmly observe what is going on in your present situation including all hidden as well as obvious aspects – observe people, places and things. Sit or stand on a terrace, marketplace, parks, school, gym... anywhere.

2. Undulation – It's a flowing mental energy that allows you to be creative and resourceful in order to formulate solutions to your current “problem” - play the “what if” scenarios over in your head but always have a way open to come out of your thoughts the moment you think you're being trapped in negativity.

3. Clear Intent – It's a must, for you have to know exactly what you want to achieve if you expect to have any hopes of victory – tell yourself, “If _____ happens, then I will ______”. Be very specific!

4. Grapplingnot as the wrestlers do– but in combat, your mental state needs to be trained to take on any situation you encounter and grapple with it until you emerge victorious; be committed!

5. Rhythm – just like the rolling waves of the ocean which flow in and out, so must you also take action, assess that action, and then take action again. You must be in a constant state of action and adjust until the threat is neutralized. Respond to an action. Don't react!

Be a Whirlwind – be an onslaught of energy that involves you pulling out all the stops to win the battle no matter what – the Warrior does not quit!

So there you have it, a few fundamental points to start conditioning yourself for an unforeseen event. Go for it.
