Why do we want to impress others?

It is a constant battle in our workplaces to impress others and to show them what our capabilities are. Sometimes it is totally exhausting. It could be described as the normal thing to do at certain times, but if we do this on a permanent basis it turns into being an unhealthy practice. You get disconnected from the things that are important to you, because you are constantly seeking the approval of others.

You are giving away your personal power!

Other people are controlling your life, and you can end up feeling emotionally unstable. If people are NOT impressed then some people go to great lengths to do something worthy so that people are impressed by them. The whole thing becomes a vicious cycle and one will feel like they’re on a treadmill that never stops.

Then you come to a point where you can't do it anymore, and you burn out.

Stop trying to impress others. You are you, and if people don't accept you the way you are, they are not worthy of you. You don't have to change yourself to fit in. It is a total myth that people need to like you. I'm not saying that you shouldn't try your best when you're doing something, but the only one you have to impress is yourself.

You are worthy and you don't need the approval of others to live a happy life.

My dad taught me,

"Be the best man you can be, and let the world feel the weight of who you are"

Your dad was a very wise man!

One of the joys of being too old to be P.C.

Hey there! Do I still feel sound like an old person?? Ha ha...

I was meaning me, I have almost run out of numbers.
