Fire at the building, 13 people died

13 people were killed in a multi-storied building in Ho Chi Minh City, south of Vietnam's commercial center. Many people have been burnt.

Authorities told AFP, on Friday morning, a fire broke out in the canal of the multi-storied building named Kareena Plaza and it quickly spread to the upper floors.

The large apartment complex, situated next to a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, has some 15 to 22-storeyed high-rise buildings. Six years ago this complex was created.

An official told AFP that after the fire broke out in the building, many of them ran and died while trying to move towards the top floor.

On condition of anonymity, the government officials told the news agency that the body of 13 people was recovered from the building. They died due to smoke shut down.
