The history of Aceh and Turkey

in #busy6 years ago

The seudati and saman dance are the development of Turkish dance. In 1547, the kingdom of Aceh under the reign of Sultan Ali Muqayatsyah had made a relationship with ustmani turkey kingdom under the ruler of sultan sulaiman I. This relationship continued until the next reign of the sultan Iskandar Muda and Sultan Selim from turkey. In that time, so many soldiers and cannons sent by Turkey kingdom to Aceh in the battle against portugis that controlled the waters of Aceh and the Malacca Strait. It is not surprising that the strength of the powerful fleet of the kingdom of aceh had been calculated at that time.

Today, the grave of the soldiers and scholars from Turki is still visible in the Bitai village Banda aceh. this connection of aceh and Turkish relations began to be established again since the earthquake and sunami devastated Aceh in 2004.
