Analysis of Fox News and the Guardian journalism

in #busy7 years ago

In the Fox News article that I chose to analyze (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/05/22/trump-suggests-historic-summit-with-north-korea-could-be-delayed.html (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.), the whole article takes the point of view of President Trump and abdicates any blame for the deterioration of United States- North Korea relations from him. All of the blame for the breakdown in peace talk plans is placed on the "rogue regime" in North Korea.

The Guardian outlines the problems that President Trump is currently facing in the article https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/16/trump-north-korea-nuclear-summit-john-bolton (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as he attempts to salvage the promising prospects of peace with North Korea. The Guardian is more open about the blunders of the Trump administration concerning negotiations with North Korea than Fox News is. The Guardian details the misconceptions the White House had about the situation in North Korea and how there is no consensus on what strategy to pursue a peaceful Korean peninsula.

Thus far, the Trump administration has embraced a no-tolerance policy on North Korean nuclearization while subjecting North Korea to progressively harsh sanctions as well as a barrage of vengeful tweets from President Trump. These tweets include insults directed towards Un as well as the country of North Korea itself. President Trump is trying to maintain the image of American power without any sincere effort to achieve a constructive solution.
