Adee Cake Sis Well Legit is a Typical Gift of Aceh
Its soft and chewy texture really inspires taste
Traveling is incomplete if you haven't tried to enjoy the typical cuisine in an area that you visit. If you come to Banda Aceh, there are Acehnese cakes that are so legit and liked by many people, called Kue Adee. In Meureudu, there are many shops or stalls selling this unique cake, along the main road that connects the city of Banda Aceh with the city of Medan, seen lined with shops or kiosks selling it, because this area is indeed the "warehouse" of the adee makers. Of the many home industries here, there is one name that is so famous, Kue Adee Sis.
This kind of bikang cake, is now a favorite gift for road users who happen to cross the Meuredu area. Pioneered by a female businessman named Hj. Rosna H Yahya since 1982 ago, currently Kue Adee with the brand "Sis Nah" which is none other than this woman's nickname, is very well known not only in Pidie Jaya, but also known in the Acehnese, Sigli, Bireuen, Lhokseumawe, Langsa even arrived in Medan.
So that this traditional cake can appear more "elite" and deserve to be carried as souvenirs, the business owner then packs his homemade cake in a cake box complete with his brand with a design that is quite attractive. Previously, the Adee Cake could only be found during Ramadan or if there were wedding parties, and could only be found in Pidie Jaya area. But since 2005, the Adee Cake can be found in other areas including Banda Aceh. Especially after the Aceh Tsunami in 2006, there were many non-governmental organizations that helped home businesses for the victims of the Aceh earthquake and tsunami to develop their businesses. Especially Acehnese food businesses such as Kue Adee.
There are two variants of this Adee Cake, namely adee flour which is made from flour and there is an adee sweet potato made from cassava. The business of making the Adee Cake also does not require a complicated production process, as well as the equipment used, because the making of this cake is quite simple, mix flour or grated cassava with coconut milk, sugar and eggs and a small amount of pandan leaf water mixed well then put the baking dish in baked in the oven.
The aroma of fried onions and pandan flavor added with soft and chewy texture is really appetizing. The price of Adee Cake itself varies depending on size, which is Rp. 20,000 for small sizes and Rp. 30,000 for large sizes. How to sell Adeeini Cake as a gift is also rather unique, Kue Adeedipajang in oulet with the song, if there is a new buyer the cake is removed from the baking sheet, then put into a box.
For those of you who are visiting the outlet for the first time, you will certainly be surprised to see the stack of baking pan containing brownish cakes lined up in the display window. There is a reason for the cake maker to maintain this way of selling Adees Cake, the cake that is left in the baking sheet will last longer and not be stale quickly, in this way the buyer can immediately see the "physical" of the cake and can choose the cake from which baking pan will be purchased . Because of the process of making it without using preservatives, this soft and legit texture confectionery only lasts a maximum of four days.
