Reception After The Monthly Family Meeting

In Africa where I come from we look for the slightest excuse to gather as a family around a table full of delicious DELICACIES. Family is everything and food is a good part of everything. Food STRENGTHEN bonds. Bonds make food more appetizing.

When the family gathers around food there are broad smiles on every face. Happiness is experience. We know in our hearts that these people accept me and i accept them.

Food is the ultimate reconciliation device. In the presence of food wrongs are made right quickly. Forgiveness is easier when there is food on the table. So in Africa, when ever there was a dispute, food will be prepared and people will gather to solve the problem. Because the stomach sits in the center of everything. It is amazing that even in the family the stomach still sits in the center.

Try this food therapy in your family, if your family is like must families around the world where family members are almost always at each others throats. Prepare a feast an invite everyone and encourage other members to take turns hosting the feast regularly. And you will see the fighting will end. Besides, those who are not ready for peace may still not come. Also some may come reluctantly and not very frequently. Just keep it up. Let the gatherings continue in time the atmosphere gets better.
