Euro NCAP in Russian: cars will break in a new way 🚗

The Department finally drew attention to the fact that in all developed countries there is an independent from the certification test method of crash tests. In Europe it is the Euro NCAP, in the US the machines are broken down by the national road safety administration (NHTSA) and the American insurance Institute (IIHS), whose crash tests are the most demanding on safety in the world. Their methods are in Japan, China, and in Germany, the cars are tested for safety and even the German automobile club ADAC.
According to representatives of Rosstandart, it will take 3-5 years to develop the methodology, and as a partner for testing it is seen by FSUE "NAMI", which has its own laboratory and trained specialists. The technique is planned to be called RuNCAP. However, it is a little unclear why the Russian Ministry so much time, because the basis can be taken for a ready methodology of the same Euro NCAP.
The test procedure will include at least two crash tests: front and side, evaluation of electronic active safety systems (stabilization systems, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, etc.). In Rosstandart, write "Izvestia", for some of the tests want to use computer modeling, it will avoid additional costs.
The results of the crash tests Rosstandart will make a separate registry, which will be publicly available: everyone will be able to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of a particular machine.
Experts agree that in Russia there is a need to organize national crash tests according to more stringent rules than prescribed by the certification requirements. But the technique should be flexible and ready for change, as automakers very quickly adapt to the requirements, so the same Euro NCAP constantly tightens them.
