Carroll Shelby's name is known all over the world. His contribution to motor racing and tuning is simply enormous. It is quite deserved in a row with him you can put another lover to pump cars with a blue oval on the radiator grille - Jack Rausch.

Jack was born in 1942 in a large family. His father, in order to feed his family, at the same time led a farm, and also was engaged in the delivery of coal and ice and as a whole was a master of all trades. As Jack remembers, the screwdriver hit him in the hands for the first time in about four years - from that moment he did not leave her anymore. As a boy, he was very fond of analyzing and collecting back various objects and mechanisms, although it was not always possible to collect them back. At school, Rausch was particularly successful in exact sciences - mathematics and physics. It was these disciplines that were prioritized on entering college, which he graduated in 1964 and immediately left for Detroit, where he was hired by Ford Motor Company as an assembly engineer. Most of all the young specialist was fascinated by automobile engines and above them he wanted to work the most. To fulfill his dream, Jack entered the University of East Michigan, where in parallel with his work, in 1970 he received his master's degree in scientific mathematics.

However, the energy of Jack Rausch was enough for more: from 1966 he joined the amateur racing team "The Fastbacks" and soon became its leader. There he had the opportunity to combine his practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and then also to have fun in drag racing and to experience the joy of victories.

Raush did well in Ford, but felt the need to grow further as quickly as possible. A huge corporation of such opportunities could not give it to him, so in 1970 he was forced to leave. Another year Jack worked as an engineer in the company Chrysler, and two years, on the recommendation of colleagues from Ford, taught mathematics and physics at Monroe Community College, and, as the students recall, the training was conducted on the example of the students themselves collected, disassembled and tuned cars.82d4969s-960.jpg
His first workshop was opened in 1970 and was modest enough - it had only the necessary tools and a dyno stand. The young engineer concentrated on drag racing and in 1972, joining forces with the talented rider and former colleague Ford of Wayne Gupp, began to achieve significant results. Their joint venture, or rather, the racing team was known as Gapp & Roush, and the cars were named Tijuana Taxi and Quarterhorse. As you know, racing wins - this is the best advertisement for such a business. In 1976 Jack Roush Performance Engineering was founded.5ad4969s-960.jpg
In 1978, Rausch turned off his participation in drag racing, but other teams already willingly ordered his engines for racing, not only for ¼ miles. The Raush logo began to appear on the cars of the Pikes Peak storming, participating in various ring races and even on racing motor boats.aed4969s-960.jpg
Until 1982, the company is fully focused on performing third-party orders. And in 1982 Raush joins forces with already known to us German studio Zakspeed, specializing on creation racing Ford of the European market. The customer of the development of a new racing car on the basis of Mustang was the Detroit concern itself.7ed4969s-960.jpg
In 1984, with the support of Ford, the Roush Racing racing team was created, which literally splashed rivals in a variety of body series. Ten times in a row, the cars of Jack Rausch became the winners of the "Sedan" class in the 24-hour Dayton race, won 24 championship titles in the national body series and 12 cups of designers. In 1988, Rausch comes to the icon of the American motor sport NASCAR and the next year his team for the first time wins. To date, Roush comes in the top ten in 46.8% of the races and in the top five in each of the 4 races - striking stability indicates a really great work of engineers. By this time the team won 322 victories and more than 200 times its cars started from the poles.

Fortunately, today anyone can join this name. Since 1995, Roush Performance has been improving Ford's production cars and offering several tuning stages. The most popular are the upgraded F-150 pick-ups and Mustang oil carts, but did not ignore the Roush Focus RS 2017, removing more than 500 hp from the 2.3-liter EcoBoost. Also you can order and independently install separate units and units for your Ford - the company produces body parts, wheel rims and numerous accessories.
