This is Adrian. I met him in a Zoo. It was not the first time that I had seen him in the zoo. The zoo is a very big where various kinds of animals are kept. I always seen him sad. I tried to ask him but neither he, nor could I understood whatever we say to each other. Finally, he learnt human language. Then for the first time he answered my question.

I greeted him. He nodded his head. I said to him that finally he was able to understand my language. He replied that he knew what I was trying to say but he added that it took him time to trust me.

I said, "You look very sad. What is the reason for it? I think you are getting every amenities here in the zoo."

He said, "You human think that an animal needs food, shelter and protection to enjoy the life. This is your big mistake."

He further said, " No matter how much facilities you have but a cage is a cage. There is no value of freedom which once I had when I was a free animal, living in a jungle. You human destroyed my habitat, killed my parents and jailed me in this cage. You can never understand what freedom is. You are doomed to be a slave or a master. Your society cannot think beyond it."

That was his remark which shut my mouth. I couldn't say anything else. I came our of zoo in a despair. I had no idea why an ape needs freedom. He had everything in the zoo but he was asking for freedom. I am sorry for his parents but he was getting every facility there. In my view he was a pathetic monkey starving for freedom which has no value before luxuries of life. We value luxuries and comfort of life over freedom. This makes us civilized. I showed him my true human nature and never talked with him again.
