We’d grind fresh pepper. The chicken is seasoned properly. There’s even a debate about which rice to cook, jollof rice or white rice with stew. That’s when you know it’s serious 😂

Sunday is visiting day. And there is that one family member who only remembers you on Sundays 😂 Nobody leaves hungry. The rule is simple, if you come on Sunday, you’re eating rice. Not small rice. Mountain rice. With chicken and extra stew on the side.

And the taste? It’s the same rice and same recipe we use other days. But Sunday rice tastes like joy. Maybe because there’s no pressure. We eat with family, we gist and laugh. Even the leftovers on Monday feels special.
