A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I didn't know what to think. That image you sent arrived on my phone, just like that, without any explanation, without a single word to tell me anything about it, and after thinking about it for a few moments, I came to the conclusion that I had to decipher its hidden meaning, what the true intention of that strange photograph was. Considering that just five minutes earlier we had had the biggest and most bitter argument in recent times, that your fury, your screams, and your insults had become part of the family anthology of disagreements, and that you had finally kicked me out of the house, accusing me of the most terrible actions, I was overcome with the certainty that some awful insults were hidden behind that seemingly innocent image.

It was a train, of course, there was no doubt about it, so the first thing that crossed my mind was that you were leaving this city we had chosen to live together in, leaving me alone forever; but this conjecture didn't convince me, it seemed too simple for the immensity of your anger, it lacked a resounding insolence that would try to drive me crazy; there had to be something deeper and more forceful in that message. Then I immediately remembered that song we listened to several times, whose lyrics repeated something like this in the chorus: Goodbye, goodbye, I hope you do well, may a car run you over, may lightning strike you, and may a train kill you. No, I dismissed that because it seemed too far-fetched for your explosive anger at that moment.

I then decided, to expand my speculation, to find out what the web said about that image, and Google assured me that it was a super-fast train that reached its destination in much less time than the others. That really caught my attention because, thinking about some of your insults, I couldn't help but associate that information with my sexual performance. I suddenly felt my male pride wounded. It was the first time a woman had questioned my abilities as a man in that way... luckily, after a few minutes, you deleted the message and then wrote to me: "That photo wasn't for you, you bastard".
