Hello everyone, it’s been almost a week—hope you’re all enjoying the festive season as much as I am!
(Or in Nigerian Pidgin: “Hope say una dey ble for ur side dis season?” 😅)

In my last post, I mentioned that I’ve resumed drawing. It’s been a fun and focused process while at home, aside from the occasional movie marathon my little sister talked me into—can’t believe I watched for that long! 😄

Here’s the first page of my comic “Silent Hawk”, freshly edited. I wasn’t happy with how it looked in the previous 2048×2048 frame, so I reworked it to fit a 1440×2848 layout instead.

🛠️ Process & Tools Used

· App: IbisPaint X – gave me 3 hours of full brush access after watching an ad. While not as sharp as Medibang Paint, it was reliable (and Medibang’s constant need for internet to load text drove me crazy 😩).
· Sketching: Started in my physical notebook—rough ideas first, no need for perfection at this stage.
· Outlining: Used Comica to bolden the scanned sketch before moving into IbisPaint.
· Brushes: Initially drew the trees manually, then discovered the grass and tree brushes (thank you, ad-supported access!). Also used pen, airbrush, and spot brush for details. The pen was kept sharp for clean lines.
· Final Edits: Placed the old artwork into the new frame, changed the background to black, removed the tiny moon, and added stars + a new moon with the spot brush. Finished with a cloud brush for the sky texture.

This page is part of the ongoing series I’m publishing on GlobalComix, so it’s exciting to share a little of the behind-the-scenes work here with you all first.

Alright, Steem family—I’d better run. My mum’s delicious food is waiting, especially that chicken! 😋.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas in areas!
