What Be Freedom? (A Response to "A Minion's Glimpse")

Written in response to @corpsekaizen's "A Minion's Glimpse" — a meditation on chains, escapes, and what waits beyond.

What be freedom? What be enslavement?
For the mice have escaped the cat only to be chased by a snake.
The snake, satisfied by the bouquet that came to his doorstep, not seeing the hawk lurking in the shadows awaiting his entry.
Do all the fish beneath the sea realize the whole world above till they be caught by the fishers?
Neither does the whale know the cause of his downfall.
To escape the hunter we met with the warm but choking embrace of the bear.
For sides must be taken for the safety of the mimosa cleaning the shark's belly.
And for the termites, the wood must be broken by the Trichonympha within.

The mind is not content with thinking, and neither is the mouth with talking.
But for all who hope to go further, the sights must be opened.
The mind must be clear to be prepared for the unknown.
The hands must be constant with their business.
And the soul must be able to differentiate the presence of colours or their absence.

For the ones filled with guilt have scores they wished to have settled, but the walls have now been built.

Envy for what's without, forgetting what's within.
The rats only see food and hunger when they walk toward the poison.
Only the patient dogs, with awareness of what's upcoming, know the right time to fight for the cow.
For patience with uncertainty is like the playing dog chasing a butterfly down the hill.

Wherever we be and wherever we go,
we have a reason to be grateful, since we have not what's needed to sit on the lion's throne.
We should be grateful for the step climbed while preparing for the big leap to better places.
Or choose to drown in the sea and despair — of the story our worries will never change, and the time-wasting dreams of a time machine you can't build.

This is enough writing for today, I wanna go and sleep. Have a great night and wishing you a fruitful tomorrow.

Anyone can also share their story to experience some freedom within
