We might be able to deceive our minds with logic, but the body is the ever-seeing eye. It sees everything we refuse to acknowledge, meticulously recording the truth we try to outrun.

We can lie to our thoughts, but our bones always know.

You can outsmart your mind, but you can’t outrun a nervous system that remembers what it survived. This is the heavy tax on the trauma survivor because the memories refuse to stay in the past.

While the mind tries to turn the page, the body insists on replaying the sensation—keeping the details alive in the skin and the pulse long after the danger has passed.

It is a forced kind of time traveling.

A quick note: As most know, my health has worsened. Managing my condition & constant hospital commutes are exhausting my daily spoons. Writing is my lifeline — the one thing I can still do while managing treatments or being bedbound by a flare-up.

If you find value in my work, please consider buying me a coffee. Your support is vital & goes directly toward my medical expenses. Thank you.
