Bills on me || a five minute prompt

My friend contacted me yesterday asking for advice on his date, I told him the few things I could come up with and I wished him well on his date.
Today he messaged me to give me feedback about his date, he seemed happy. He thanked me for encouraging him and giving him some tips on his date.
He said the date went well and both of them were happy, especially his crush. I was glad it well and I was happy to help out a friend.
He later mentioned the fact that their happiness came at a cost, the bills were on him. He had spent much more than he expected. I replied, you are now responsible for someone. You now have responsibilities, and bills will definitely be on you. So, brace up!

That was a great advice, right?
