Despicable || Prompt

I get confused when I want to use the word, "despicable". It looks to me like it has different meaning from the commonly used interpretation.

I later got a good description of the word when I saw the movie, "despicable me". The main character, Gru gave us the perfect image of despicable. Since then, I know despicable has to do with evil, wickedness and anything bad. These are the synonyms that come to mind whenever the word is mentioned.

It is a bad word.
This is not a word anyone would be proud of when called.
Yet some are deserving of it.
Gru loved the name despicable, he even made effort to be the evil boss in the world.
The peace and quiet is good enough for me.
