The exit point is a place of departure.
To those in distress, an exit point is a place of rescue and escape.
For security reasons, the exit point should be kept open and accessible at all times.

I heard a story one time, about a party held in an event center, it was strictly by invitation. This made the security tight and constrained the people inside. As the party went on, the place was vibrating and everyone was having fun. Maybe it was the media team or the organizing unit, but the event center caught fire and everyone was trying to run out for safety but the exit door was too narrow to let multiple people go in. Then , they realized the essence of the exit point.
