Today was a boring day because I was preparing my tax declaration. I always try to left this activity for the last week and always swear I won't left for last time next time.
This is what I should to do because I studied accounting at college, but I don't like it all, but I should do this each month.
It's ironic that you studied it, and you still don't find it enjoyable. Yet, this is often the case with many.

Sí, lastimosamente era una carrera que podía costear y en la que tenía talento. Luego la realidad me demostró que la contabilidad no suele ser ética, al menos en mi país, cuando empecé la carrera no sabía cómo era la realidad.
I am not sure about accounting. But, in some fields, ethics are debatable topic. At least, it is good that one understand how things work.
Todo debería implicar una cierta ética. Por ejemplo, yo como Contador Público, debería certificar que lo que estoy realizando cumple las leyes. La realidad es que muchos colegas, para poder tener clientes, estafan al Estado, y quiero aclarar que estoy contra los impuestos, pero no por ello voy a mentir por otras personas, porque la responsabilidad es mía, y si se fiscaliza y se comprueba una evasión, la que irá presa seré yo, porque el cliente siempre jugará que no sabe nada, aunque ellos mismos te hayan dicho que no van a pagar impuestos, y te den facturas que no corresponden.
Pero luego, charlando con programadores, me di cuenta que ellos también sufren presión para programar y poner mecanismos para defraudar. Y si quieren el trabajo, lo hacen. Creo que ellos también deberían tener una ética que le impida programar para cometer fraude. Pero bueno, solo soy una idiota idealista 😂
When it comes to declaring something to governmental or legal entities, it is crucial to be accurate. In the given example you shared, the accountant might still be liable, irrespective of what the client said. But, it maybe different from one jurisdiction to another.
I'm not much familiar with the laws regarding accounting. But, that's what I think. XD
Creo que en todo el mundo los contadores tienen al menos responsabilidad subsidiarias, sino ser los principales responsables, porque el cliente no tiene los conocimientos, así que el contador es quien puede determinar si hay irregularidades.
True. In certain fields, critical tasks go to a senior to verify accuracy. But, it is probably different when it is related to clients.
It's a good thing we're not forced to do the same job all our lives, or... to do what we once had to learn to do.

There are people here who make a lot of money helping people fill out tax forms! I don't like it either, but I'm good at it.

Interesting 🤔 Here many colleagues almost do for free the account and tax work, and that it's other reason why I don't want to ejerce this career. But the main reason is because customers want you to do creative accounting for not pay taxes

The creative part is that you know how to exploit loopholes in the law so that they pay no or less tax. With us, everyone knows how to do that... I'm very good at creative accounting. LOL
