Mrs. Rosario

Mrs. Rosario observes how young people today are abandoning reading and thinks about how she could capture the attention of some of the young people in her town.

He decides to create something eye-catching, using good wood, and builds a small bookshelf, a kind of wooden box with very thin glass where you can clearly see each book placed inside.

While he was having coffee, she noticed some children and teenagers approaching to look. "There's nothing there," they said, and left. The next day, he placed a book and a few other things in the spot. Every now and then, he looked around and saw them approaching, looking, and commenting. "Look, there's a book there!" some said. "What a nuisance!" others said. "Let's go play instead."

A week passed, Mrs. Rosario placed more books but NOTHING happened, the young people came and went, so she decided to place three more books.... The young people watched from behind the glass, one of them said: "Hey, I read that book", another boy asked, "This one up there, let's open it and look at it."

The boy takes out the book, sits down, and begins searching for passages that bring back memories. Little by little, other children approach and listen attentively. Mrs. Rosario approaches timidly. The children see her and say, "He took out the book," pointing at the boy. She smiles. "No problem," she says. "That's the key: that they value not only current technology, but also what has always existed and always will: the value of a good book, especially if there's controversy surrounding it."

Mrs. Rosario tells them, "I'll bring you refreshments and cookies." The boys settle in and pass around the book, sharing their opinions and enjoying the reading while Mrs. Rosario serves each of them a snack. Every day, the young people come to read for a while the books Mrs. Rosario leaves there. In fact, some also leave books and share with others the readings they enjoy, moments of leisure, memories, and experiences that come to mind while they read.

Excellent story; attempts to establish these small libraries have been made in my country, with little success.

Technology will leave much behind

This is a great idea to introduce the new generation to reading books because as the internet era gains momentum, the new generation is moving away from reading books. I really liked Mrs. Rosario's idea of making a book rack. She especially liked the books that the children were interested in and gave them the opportunity to comment on them. She also didn't give up because at first no one wanted to read these books.

Thank you so much for your kind comment.

Thank you so much for your support.

The title immediately caught my attention, then I read it and I liked the way Rosario motivates children; she encourages them to read and eat their snack. Books are increasingly limited by technology; that's a fact.

Thank you so much. Women, with that maternal touch, always achieve much of what they want; that's exactly the focus of the story. Thank you for commenting.

Such a lovely story. Somehow it brought tears to my eyes as she went to bring them some snacks. Let's hope she brought books, reading into the lives of some children.
