Going Back Home

It has been a long walk until he finally reached the train station. He is walking on the side of the train. Wearing his heavy black jacket, old blue jeans and a sports looking shoes. Carrying his bags with him and thinking about going home. He is looking down at his footsteps and tries to walk on the white painted line on the grey bricks (which is a safe area between trains and people at the station). This was not a game. But, something within him tells him that he has to leave all other walking area and stick to this. While another train passes to his left. It was a colorful one. Something that is unique about their state is that each of their trains are colored in a certain way. The number on the top of the train is (2) which signifies which door it is. The stylish painted letters on the bottom (B.A.E.R) which at times are drawn randomly on trains, just in a way to make them look like a graffiti painter has chosen the ones that looks good next to each other. The windows of the train are really high that, they use them to see sky when they are on the way. Or, to see the reflection of station lights when they reach the station.

He continues walking, imagining the joy of his children when they greet him at the door. But, never really knowing if they will be really happy to see him, or, if they have waited so long that they are now busy playing games, doing school work or, home chores. There are too many things that they can be doing. His wife asked him to not buy more toys, as they have plenty. But, to an old man, the joy of seeing their smiles when he hands them their gifts is more than just mathematical calculation of needs.
