How About Being Honest

Time passes by fast. Maybe, it takes a slower pace at times. Possibly, somewhere in between. But, the one sure thing is, if we put the scientific calculation of time aside, and tried to make sense of how fast or slow time is. We certainly going to end up, with opinions based on experiences. Where, the drawn conclusion at the end, would be a question mark, rather than a full stop. His trail of thought stopped for a second!

It has been over twenty years since they have got together. His youthful looks has changed. The grey hair, the wrinkles on his face and his tone of voice. All have changed. But, there is one thing that he still cannot get his mind over. Should he say that, sometimes he thinks of different things while speaking? Or, would it be better to not hurt her feelings? He knew that, she acts somewhat similar to this. She is also not telling him that, she spends on grocery more than what they allocated. She sometimes gives less to herself. But, make sure that everything is there and they have enough. While, making sure that she does not put more pressure on him.

The same situation repeats itself at the university. Where, their eldest son has not passed one of his exams. He had to take a part-time job to earn enough to re-take the same course again. No one was closer to him than his parents. But, he knew that if he has confronted them with the truth, they might give him a helping hand. He wanted to give them a relief that he can depend on himself and take care of his younger brother.

The light music has stopped. The play has ended. Just before the crowd stands up. The actor playing the father took the mic and said: How about being honest for a change? Does being fully transparent contradict with being caring at times? The crowd stood up and clapped, while leaving with a thought, a question, and not the answer.
