It's My Party And...
It's my party and I want to have it today. That was her last words before she went to bed. It was a week ago. Today is supposed to be the day that her six years old is waiting for. Her mother is still hearing her voice when she asked for the birthday. It seems like a wish that did not come true. A last wish, possibly? But, her mother do not want to be pessimistic.
Two days ago. Her father, dropped her at school and went back home to help with the birthday preparation with her mother. Their little girl almost forgot that she asked for the birthday earlier. Just as they expected. But, what they did not see coming is the black cloud! The one that came on their small town. As soon as the little girl finished school at that day, she went out to see a huge black cloud close to earth. She was curious. She walked towards it with all innocence. As soon as she reached, she was trapped inside. She did not realized it. But, no one saw her after that. Her father came to pick her up and was not able to find her. She was seeing everyone. But, all her screams seems to not reach outside of the cloud.
Today, her mother is still feeling the guilt of not making the small girl's wish come true. Something so simple, within reach that has not been given for flimsy reasons. The father thinks of, how many good things that one can do to others, that are delayed until they are forgotten.
I like the story, but unfortunately, it cannot be upvoted because you double-posted.

I was writing from the point of view that a kid cannot wait.
Sometimes we get so caught up in following the rules that we forget to enjoy life, as if it were endless. Besides, we often celebrate birthdays belatedly, so I might as well celebrate them early. But hey, if we knew the future, we wouldn't be so bitter about "what ifs." Great story, thanks for sharing.
I think that the present will lose some of its glow in that case.
