The word is easily used, regardless of whether it's true, whether it's just a case of being down for a day or two, or whether it's something we all feel occasionally. Most people say they're depressed. Does this mean that depressed sounds better thatn: I don't feel well, It's not my day, I feel like crying, It's not my lucky day, I'm in a bad mood, Autumn hit me, I feel lonely, The dog died, The cat left, I need a break, I am tired, I didn't sleep well.... Depressed.

The pressure is more felt if you focus on it, if you are not able to keep yourself busy, if there's no one to talk with, if no one pushes you outside, catch some sunlight.

Depressed...
The talks are mainly about being depressed. How come no one is tired, exhausted, and suffering from sleepless nights because of too much energy? Isn't it allowed to be sad, cry your eyes out without being labelled as depressed? Can't we greeve about a loved one we lost, just buried?

How many times does a doctor label a person as depressed to subscribe the meds s/he receives a big bonus from at the end of the year?

We all feel depression, I don't think there is anyone who says the opposite, every day has its own worries, no day is the same as the previous one, despite having the same routine, conclusion, we are human beings and we have mood swings that we ourselves must manage.

Worries and a mood swing aren't per se depressions.
Not everyone has depressions.

@wakeupkitty, this post really resonated with me! Your exploration of the word "depressed" and how readily it's used is so insightful. The way you contrasted it with other, more nuanced feelings – "tired," "lonely," "grieving" – truly highlights the importance of distinguishing between a temporary state and a more serious condition.

And the artwork! It's powerful and evocative. The debit card technique is really interesting and adds such a unique texture. It visually represents the layers of emotions you're discussing in the text.

This post is thought-provoking and creatively expressed. I'm curious to hear what others think: Have you ever felt pressured to label your feelings a certain way? Let's discuss!
