Window Wavers

First there were only the elderly, sitting by the window staring outside. A vacant look in their eyes, as if they were dreaming of another world.
No one disturbed them; after all, the elderly are a thorn in the side of younger generations, raised with the idea that only they are the future.
With their gaze fixed on infinity, eyes that seem empty and unresponsive when a question is asked.
The days are endlessly long for them.
Deep into the memories of George, John, Peter, Jet, Marie, and Elisabeth is delved when, at the end of the day, they are finally dressed and placed by the window, left at their post like living corpses.

"Useless people, freeloaders, they are," says the man from the pension fund who has gambled away their investments. "Those old folks don't generate anything; they only cost money."

The executioner grins; he has a good plan. He himself is no spring chicken either, just like the rest of the club who leave him alone as long as he does the work.
"The media is versatile," he remarks, "there's plenty of photo and video material, and the stupidity of the average person knows no bounds."

A pandemic had long been on his wish list, and he had manufactured the remedy long ago. A means to eradicate the weakest and control the rest, compelling them to obediently carry out one task after another, transmitted remotely to their brains.

"How wonderful it is to be able to exterminate humanity with their consent," he thought contentedly. Once the emergency was declared, he could also get his hands on the bank accounts and possessions of those he had always detested.

More and more people sat behind the windows while the corpses, like the lies, piled up. The flu had vanished rapidly in countries where dictators wielded their sceptres and the VIPs celebrated exuberantly. Occasionally, someone walking a dog on the street would hesitantly raise a hand, and the person behind the window would wave back. The number and average age of the 'window wavers' drastically declined. The generation with common sense and the ability to think was quietly being eliminated.

"In about five years or so, we'll do it all over again," he said, "then there will be no one left who can bear witness to the planned pandemic."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Science needed guinea pigs, and there were more than enough of those. A bit of immigration would also promptly deal with all those lazy freeloaders worldwide that nobody wanted anyway.

This is the reality. However, in natural world, old and weak animals are left for dying. Only humans care about their old parents and grand parents. This was the reality but in the modern time when everything is assessed with the money value, old people are being treated as burden for the young people who are generating money. That's why old people should have savings in order to live a life with dignity. They should also have a clear thought that no one would care for them.

(Science needed guinea pigs, and there were more than enough of those. ) It sounds extreme, but it's quite feasible in my opinion.
