Morning Mist, Warm Noodles, and Simple Happiness by the Myanmar Border 🇹🇭🌄🌿

Hello everyone

Thailand has officially stepped into the cool season, and many provinces are starting to feel that gentle chill settling in. Here in Chong Khaep, Pobpra District, Tak Province, the temperatures drop noticeably—especially from early evening all the way until late morning. Taking a shower becomes a real test of courage, because the water feels as cold as ice ❄️. My sister’s house doesn’t have a water heater, so every time I shower, I have to mentally prepare myself for that first icy splash.

With the cold weather creeping in, I had to buy warm clothes—sweaters and long pants—for both myself and my son. Despite the chilly mornings, my routine remains the same: I still open the boat noodle stall every day. And honestly, the morning atmosphere at the shop is wonderful. The cool air mixes with the warmth of the kitchen, creating a cozy feeling that I’ve grown to love. Today, I’d like to take you along with me to experience the little boat noodle spot that my sister and I run together. 🍜✨

Our little boat-noodle shop sits right beside the Moei River, the natural border between Thailand and Myanmar. When you look behind the shop, you’ll see a line of mountains wrapped in gentle morning mist, with layers of lush green trees covering the slopes. It’s the kind of view that instantly refreshes your mind and makes you breathe a little deeper. 🌄🌿

Before this, the walkway in front of our shop was made of wood. Over time, with rain and weather wearing it down, parts of the bridge began to rot. One day, a customer accidentally stepped on a weak spot and fell through. Luckily, they weren’t hurt—but it was a clear warning for us. So we decided to rebuild the walkway using strong steel instead of wood. We painted it in bright, cheerful colors and added some flowers along the sides to make the entrance more welcoming and beautiful. 🌼✨

At our boat-noodle shop, we also have a few friendly cats who love to greet customers as they arrive. They wander around the shop like little hosts, and they often trail behind me no matter where I go. Their presence adds a soft, cozy charm to the place—almost as if they’re part of the staff. 🐱✨

These cats don’t just hang around the shop—they bring the whole place to life. Sometimes they rest on the wooden walkway, sometimes they explore the garden, and other times they simply sit and watch customers with curious eyes. Their playful and relaxed nature adds a warm, homely feeling to the café, making it a little more charming than before. 🐾💕

In the afternoon, when the shop gets quiet and there are no customers around, I usually make a bowl of noodles for myself. I’ve always loved noodles—especially boat noodles—so whenever the place slows down, I take the chance to cook a fresh bowl just the way I like it. It’s a simple little moment I look forward to each day. 🍜✨

While enjoying my bowl of noodles, I often find myself gazing out at the Moei River and the quiet landscape across the border in Myanmar. The flowing water, the green hills, and the shifting clouds create a peaceful scene that makes every meal feel a little more special. It’s a moment of stillness in the middle of a busy day—just me, my noodles, and the view. 🌿🍜✨

Days like this remind me why I enjoy spending time here so much. Even though running a small boat-noodle shop by the river isn’t always easy, there’s something deeply comforting about the slow rhythm of life in Pobpra—the misty mornings, the friendly customers, the playful cats, and the peaceful view of the Moei River flowing quietly in the background.

Every bowl of noodles we serve carries a little piece of this place with it. And even on the busiest days, there’s always a moment where I can sit down, breathe, and appreciate the simple beauty around me. It’s these ordinary yet meaningful moments that make my time here feel truly special.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed this small glimpse into my everyday life by the river. Until the next post—may your day be warm, peaceful, and filled with good food. 🌿🍜✨
