Day 2 playing Cur8 Games
It's my second day on Cur8 Games today and I decided to have a go at Sky Tower today. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this one however it's more interesting and addictive than I'd imagined!
The first thing that caught my attention about this game is its colors. The game is really vibrant.
Even the title screen is super pretty. It has skies, white fluffy clouds and mountains, in the background. It just makes you happy.
I also think the little cartoon block characters are incredibly cute and I feel like this game would be good at making a person feel encouraged to play. In Sky Tower you're going to need to press the screen when the right time to drop block and then the tower will begin to build up. It continues growing bigger and bigger until tower eventually collapses when it's top heavy.
One of the things I love about this game is that it's very satisfying. Every single time that you land a block directly on top of the block below you'll see the 'perfect' sign popup and increase your combo! Today during my run I had a combo count of 2 with a perfect amount of 7 and had 18 blocks tall tower. Once tower was finally destroyed it came down in a heap and showed the Tower Complete! Screen and rewarded me with +3.90 XP which makes the rewards in this game feel like you're working towards something while playing the game especially as a new player.
The 3D representation of the Sky Tower really stands out in this game; your tower is being built inside the small town made of little houses, trees and roads. When you manage to get your tower to look like it is way over the town it is incredibly satisfying and adds greatly to the realism of this simple game. The controls in this game are superb; all that needs to be done is tap the screen when you believe that it is the perfect time to release the next block. The game play of this game is simple to grasp but can actually prove very difficult to master, a feature which is ever present in the games I play.
I have had this game for a little while now and have had many games of Sky Tower through the day, and have been on a constant effort to beat my record. As time has gone on, I am getting more accustomed to the idea of predicting just when it is the right time to release. There is also a gift icon, which can be used and does seem to be a rewarding feature if the game can be played for a sustained amount of time and I cannot wait to see what this has to offer.
All in all, Sky Tower is a super enjoyable and addictive casual game which I'd recommend to anybody, especially those of you who may only have a limited amount of time to play your games and you are seeking a more calming yet at the same time challenging game to keep yourself entertained. It's clear that Cur8 Games is quickly becoming a great surprise in the gaming community and I'm super eager to discover all of its other games!
