Hooked at First Shot: A Space Shooter Worth Playing”

The idea of me playing a game isn't that surprising as I like to game to wind down. I was taking a look over on the Cur8 Games web site, where I came across this game called space shooter that I think people are going to love. It is a verticle and an arcade type shooter and resembles very closely to a galaxy defense game. I instantly loved this game because, after I clicked the trigger button I was already pulled into the game. The graphics and neon effects are awesome, slick and it makes the game look stylish.

The game itself is very addictive, to put it in a word...cool. You are traveling at extreme speeds through space in a nice ship shooting aliens after alien. You can't help but shoot them all as they just keep coming. It's really crazy how much enemies there are flying at once! You have to maneuver yourself around all the shots, try and figure out what their attack patterns are and in order for you to maintain your combo of 13, and to survive a hail of bullets. The most interesting element this game has is the heat gauge on the side of the screen which prevents your ship from overheating while in intense moments of blasting. I was able to score 2,720 in the first attempt at playing for reals, which is a new personal record but, you have so much room for improvement.

This is a fantastic "mobile-first" game because it has the most responsive controls I've ever seen in a game with the joystick to control the direction and a large fire button; dogfighting is tactical and not completely chaotic. You can also pick up a variety of power-ups like health, shields, and weapons which gives a good level of strategy when the screen fills with ships.

Even though I ran out of coins before I could keep playing during my last attempt, I already can't wait to play again. It's a perfect mix of the nostalgic arcade games of the past and the latest JavaScript advancements in speed. If you are looking for a game that you can play in bursts and that is easy to pick up but challenging to master, I would highly recommend this game. It's fun, exciting and I think it could provide "just one more try" for anyone who plays it.
