Pentris: The Strategy Discipline.
It is clear that it is Pentris, and you have done some session in which you have had 30! I will make sure that this description is legitimate, convincing, and particular to this classic title.
The Steem RetroGames site offered me my last game, and it was a special game session on Pentris and, though my final score was 30, it was a valuable training on spatial strategy and the development of basic skills. Every block that is being used and especially at the start defines the outcome of the entire game.
The Problem of the Pentominoes.
Pentris is not the game of fitting blocks, it is the challenge of Pentominoes-pieces which are five squares. The more massive and complex forms increase the hardening of continuous and clearable lines even more. The fact that I scored 30 at the beginning of the game is a solid indicator that the key objective of the session was to construct a strategic well and manage the asymmetrical shapes created at a rapid rate.
The First Steps of Mastery
The greatest learning normally happens in a reduced score in Pentris. It is the session that must have been dedicated to:
Introduction: Learning the tricks to how to interlock the first few irregular shapes (the pentominoes, i.e. the F, P or N) without any big and uncovered spaces. A premature mistake will spell premature Game Over.
Rotational Practice: Fine-Tuning the perceptual speed with which one should rotate each complex bit to find the exact spot of where it is before the accelerating force of gravity can do its job.
The Pursuit of the Pentris: the last target is to clear five lines at the same time- the so-called Pentris- that brings massive bonus points. This practice was the foundation of low level to eventually create such disastrous and high scoring clear.
The Competitive Edge
The 30 is the starting point, yet the thrill of Pentris is that every time one plays, he or she is making a step at the right direction to become a competitive player. There are other players in the platform who have scored 700s and 800s! This is only a pointer of the potential that there is in the game should my initial competence be converted into clearing of lines at high-speed which can be maintained. It is exciting because it will be enhanced within one session to another, which is measurable.
This was not just any kind of a game but a training exercise. I will come with a score of more than 100 next time!
Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @chant, @ninapenda and @m-fdo to try this game out .
