A Boy and His Violin

My son plays the violin.
He’s been learning for about three years now, and I really appreciate how living in Australia offers so many opportunities for kids to try different things.

Among them, learning an instrument and swimming stand out the most.

I always wanted him to learn how to swim. Partly because I can’t swim myself, but also because in Australia, it feels essential—with so many beaches, and even swimming included in school programs.

At the same time, I thought it would be wonderful if he could play at least one musical instrument.
Thankfully, he enjoys the violin and has been doing really well with it.
