Slobodischa

The village of Slobodischa is located in the Gryazovetsky district of the Vologda region. A car is so rare here that I woke up the locals. Two men were waiting for me with headlamps, and then they were surprised when I said I was just taking pictures.

They have every car in the account. Although I would have "given myself away" without a car: the crunch from the snow was such that you could probably hear it from a kilometer away.

In fact, they are so vigilant here because of the fugitive criminals from the nearby Gryazovets prison.

They say that recently I was hiding alone in this village, they thought that I was walking with a thermal imager.

These are small things compared to the fact that once in one of the yards of Vologda my tripod was mistaken for a gun...

Overall, the village is a dead end...There is no further way.

I've found what I've been looking for for so long: a frosty, snow-covered ancient village.

This winter, I want to shoot as many of these subjects as possible.

The village is very cozy. I was here once in the summer when I was looking for a way to Nikolsky Lake.

But I didn't remember the views of this place from the car window, and I didn't take any photos then.

I'm sure it's even more atmospheric here in summer.

Although the village seems dead at night.

Only the lanterns and the light in the windows remind us that someone else lives here.
