9/5/2026 : A story about my most relaxing holiday.
Hello, my lovely friends! The holidays have arrived, but it's only a short weekend, Saturday and Sunday. However, life goes on, and my activities begin as usual. At 6:30 AM, I wake up and get ready to go to the morning market.
At lunchtime, I find something delicious to eat, which I cook at home. And in the evening, I start preparing dinner for my family as usual – three dishes for the main meal and one special dish for my father-in-law. It's like this every evening.
The weather was really nice this morning. I wanted to ride my motorbike and take pictures of the view from the bridge to share with my friends, but there were cars behind me, so I couldn't park. When I got to the market today, there weren't many goods on sale, which I understand is because it's been raining almost every day this month. Therefore, some vendors haven't been able to set up their stalls. I bought what I needed and then rode home.
After returning home, I went down to check on the plants in front of the house. There were small insects, similar to dragonflies, but with pointed bodies—I don't know what species they are. They flew and perched on the plants I planted, and I enjoyed watching them. I even took a video, capturing their various movements, such as touching their tails to their front feet or even shaking their heads. It was quite entertaining for me.
And now my pumpkin plants are growing bigger every day. There are only two of them in a hole close together. Their leaves are large and quite rough; they're hairy when you touch them. Soon I'll have to find some branches for them to climb on in preparation for future fruiting, haha!
It wasn't until around 1 PM that I started feeling hungry after having a small snack for the kids. That's when it was my turn to enjoy a delicious meal! I like moderately spicy and flavorful food, so papaya salad was my go-to choice. Luckily, I got some papayas from a neighbor a few days ago, so I kept them in the refrigerator. Today was the perfect day to cook with them. Papaya salad is a classic Thai dish that never gets boring, no matter how many times you make it or even if you eat it daily. It's especially delicious with various fresh vegetables that can be eaten raw. It also pairs perfectly with grilled chicken, fried pork, rice noodles, or even vermicelli – a truly harmonious and unparalleled culinary experience.
At 4:50 PM, it's time for me to start preparing dinner for my family. Every day, I only prepare three dishes for the table, plus a special one: steamed fish with soy sauce for my father-in-law, who is elderly and finds fish very suitable for him. Today, I made a simple stir-fried Chinese cabbage, a second dish of stir-fried green beans with a fragrant omelet (my youngest daughter loves this one), and the last dish was egg tofu soup, a light and nutritious meal that everyone in the house enjoys. Adding some sliced fresh chili and fish sauce makes it even more appetizing. That's all for today's story. Thank you for reading! Have a happy holiday everyone! See you again in the next article. Bye-bye!
