Ascend and Admire the Lotuses | A Sea of Blooms within the Second Ring Road

The scene was once described by Lao She thus:
Willow groves encircling the embankment, a thousand acres of lotuses, thickets of reeds. Ducks gather in flocks, the sound of cicadas is deafening.

Xihai (Jishuitan)
Xihai, also known as Jishuitan, was historically the largest terminal port at the northern end of the Grand Canal. In those days, the southbound vessels nearly obscured the wide expanse of Jishuitan's water, creating the magnificent spectacle where "prows and sterns covered the water."

Historical and Cultural Tribute
The park features a sculpture of Guo Shoujing, who is revered as the Father of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, as well as the Huitong Temple Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall.
In resonance and extension of the museum's exhibits, the pathway running between the North Gate and the Guo Shoujing sculpture by the lake has been named the "Road of Guo Shoujing." Furthermore, the original sluice gate where water flowed into Shichahai has been restored and displayed.
