Watching a Sunrise at Sea in Xiamen

Every time I watch the sun rise, I feel quietly healed.
Of course, there are days when the weather doesn’t cooperate—but even then, the memory lingers.
I came across photos from January and couldn’t resist sharing this moment of beauty.

From Yefengzhai to Huangcuo Beach, the entire stretch of coastline offers sweeping views of the sunrise. It’s easy to avoid the crowds here—the farther you walk toward Guanyin Mountain, the quieter it becomes.

I’m especially drawn to the moments before dawn, when the world holds its breath. The wait may be long, but it is always worth it. And after the sun breaks the horizon, don’t rush back to sleep—you’d miss the many quiet scenes unfolding along the way.
