The wild form of this aster is found in Japan, Korea and China. In China, it has already been cultivated for 2000 years. The common name is garden aster. Varieties with full flower heads with claw-like, thin petals are called China aster. They can be found in all the common aster colors, from white to light yellow, from pink to purple.
