RE: ECO-LENS CHALLENGE, Mouth fly, Drainfly, Pakistan

in CCSyesterday

I never saw a fly like this, sand-, horse-, stable- and fruit flies yes. It seems this one isn't a real plague especially not if you are clean and take their sources to breed away".

I found a site with solutions:

I like some of your photos not because of the fussy body but the silver wings.

Right now wehardly have flies or insects thanks to the winter. As soon as Spring starts they all pop out of wherever they hide.

As I mentioned in my post, this fly is mostly found in drain pipes or in places where there is sewage. So I also saw this fly in the same place in my house. That's when I took pictures of it and shared it with you. It is actually very small in size. About six millimeters, so you have to look carefully at it. Otherwise, it is usually not visible.

I already read it's easily taken for a fruit fly. I believe I would use the vacuum cleaner and indeed try to get rid of them. Your camera must be very good you could make such a clear shot.

Turns out they are not in most cases in the drains but also the bin and other places where it's humid or smells. They seem to like it where it stinks. I wonder what Mother Nature made them for.

A happy 2026
