Application for Steemit Challenge Season 28 : Creative Writing
Hi Dear @steemblog and fellow Steemians,
This is @dove11. I joined this website on May 14, 2022
I believe one of the great joys of writing creative/fiction is the opportunity it gives you to show yourself. Creative writing involves pushing boundaries, taking creative risks, discovering things about an unknown and going on an adventure where you don’t always know exactly where you’ll end up.
I have seen in past contests that Steemians play it safe or try to over-control the process, find themselves guessing too much at every turn and stifle their creativity. Playing it safe is okay but the stores that don’t truly move in the right direction, do not entertain and inspire their readers.
I think creative writing is a great opportunity to write a story where you express your views and experiences. I believe the essence of creating a fictional story lies in adopting authentic storytelling style, crafting resonance, building vivid imagery, and perfect insights into your work.
This contest is designed to help Steemians unlock and realize the dramatic potential of a creative/fictional story. The big challenge that most Steemians face is having way too much material. But I believe the opposite is true for fiction/creative writing that's why I keep a word limit.
Everyone usually has their own experiences and wisdom. A compelling story begins with choosing a theme that resonates with your ideas but also creates insights into the minds and hearts of your readers. The memoirs and memories give a deep personal account to your story, but make sure honesty reigns supreme. I suggest you to go deep into your emotions, embrace your problems, and reveal your truths.
As a general rule, I personally recommend to write your story without worrying about the result because I believe to write fiction clearly and creatively we need to trust our own voice. You might imagine the characters from your past including yourself, and include life into your narrative.
I suggest add descriptions and imaginary yet realistic anecdotes to make these characters relatable which will draw readers evoking a deep sense of connection with each of your characters'.

I propose this topic for Week-1
- A world where emotions are physically manifested as creatures roaming the streets.
The rain had been falling all afternoon, turning the city streets into gray and lonely. Zany pulled her hood tight, the cold wind pressing against her skin like a reminder of how alone she felt. That’s when she saw a moving figure weaving colors through the mist.
Zany froze as she saw a bright and fluttering tiny colored dragon dancing just beyond the puddle at the edge on the street. She remembered everyone said small dragons appear when you least expected them, but she never thought she’d see one ever.
It floated toward her, its wings casting sparkles on her wet jeans. She felt as if all the dullness around her seemed to pulse with color now. She held out her hand, trembling.
The dragon landed softly on her fingers, and in that moment she felt the heaviness in her chest lifted just a little. She managed to smile feeling something she hadn’t in forever. Was it a spark of joy?
They moved together into the evening, light trailing behind them....
You have to carry forward from here giving us the version of this teenager's perseptive of discovery, loneliness, and hope aligned with the prompt to deepen emotional connection and growth with whatever you feel they two did that evening.
I believe creative writer has complete knowledge of the subject but in creative writing, different people might have different views on the same subject. So, I am sure Steemians are going to read interesting stories based on this prompt.
