We Tried to Protect Her — But We Lost Her. Help Us Keep Other Children Safe.
WE TRIED TO PROTECT HER.
For a short time, she was safe with us.
She smiled again.
She played like a child should.
She began to trust again.
But every evening, she had to leave.
Because we did not have a place to keep her.
And then one day… she was gone.
This time, we could not bring her back.
A STORY THAT STILL HURTS
She lost her mother at a very tender age to a road accident.
Her mother was a single parent, and when she passed away, the child was left with elderly grandparents who were already struggling.
In their desperation, they agreed to let her be taken by another family far away — about 400 km from home — for a small amount of money.
When we later asked the grandparents why they agreed to such a thing, their answer was painful:
They believed they might lose her anyway… to sickness, t

o hunger, to circumstances they could not control.
They thought they were giving her a chance to survive.
But It Was Not Safety
The place she was taken to did not become her home.
She was not treated with the care every child deserves.
She suffered.
And as time passed, she began to realize something was wrong — that the people around her were not truly her family.
So one day, she made a decision no child should have to make.
She ran.
She found her way back to her grandparents.
A BRIEF MOMENT OF HOPE
That is when we found her.
We brought her to school.
For the first time in a long time, she began to feel safe again.
We even arranged for her to stay with one of our teachers who lives near the school, so she would not have to return to the same difficult environment every day.
For a moment, it felt like things might finally change for her.
But We Still Lacked One Thing
We did not have a secure place to keep her long-term.
No dormitory.
No permanent shelter.
And because of that, we could not fully protect her.
And eventually… we lost her again.
What This Means for Other Children
That loss is something we carry with us every day.
And it has taught us something we cannot ignore:
Education alone is not enough.
Without a safe place to stay, vulnerable children remain at risk — no matter how much we try to help them during the day.
WHY WE MUST BUILD THIS DORMITORY
We are working to build a simple dormitory for the most vulnerable children in our school.
Not something big.
Just:
A safe place to sleep
A stable environment
Protection from harmful situations
The cost is $15,000.
To us, it is a very big step.
But it is also necessary.
Because this is not just about comfort.
It is about protection.
A SIMPLE REQUEST
If this story has touched your heart, I humbly ask you:
PLEASE help us take this step.
Upvote this post to increase its reach,
Delegate Steem Power if you are able,or
Send any amount of STEEM as support
No amount is too small.
Because together, small acts can build something life-changing.
A DIFFERENT ENDING
We could not change what happened to her.
But we can change what happens next.
We can make sure that another child:
Is not sent away in desperation
Is not left unprotected
Is not lost when help was within reach.
FINAL WORDS
Tonight, somewhere, a child will sleep in uncertainty.
But with your help… that can begin to change.
Let this be the moment where compassion becomes action.
Thank you for going through and standing with us.
