Child protection services and family courts are seen by many as a purely positive force in society. They are supposed to be the state saviors of abused children, and step in to remove children who need to be removed from the danger of their incompetent or malicious parents. But the reality isn't so clear cut and dry. CPS and family courts aren't the angels they are believed to be. They are also creating much harm towards families and the children they are supposed to be helping.

Tammi Stefano exposes much of the corruption at the hands of CPS and family courts as the Executive Director of the National Safe Child. This organization looks to protect the rights of children from being unjustly taken from the custody of their safe parents or families. In an interview on Buzzsaw, she exposes some of the information about child trafficking in Los Angeles county, California.

Child protective services may have a good intent in what they claim to be for, but the execution is botched and presents failures to safeguard children's lives. Social workers in CPS are not properly trained to truly investigate child abuses crimes. Law enforcement is better trained, but even they call CPS for assistance in investigating crimes.

Children Murdered in Placed Homes

In 2013, Los Angeles had thousands of children taken away from their parents that were deemed as being in "unsafe homes", allegedly. Yet, 570 of those children were murdered in the homes they were placed into. How unsafe were the homes of their parents really? At least by comparison, they were much safer with their parents who had an innate connection to them than with strangers who often care much less about them by default.

Sex Offenders as Foster Parents

In Stefano's investigations, she found that about 1,000 convicted sex offenders were given a green light to become foster parents. By some people's standards, molesters are not considered so dangerous if they have been rehabilitated, which can mean they just went to classes or completed mandatory therapy sessions. But a child molester will reach dozens of children to molest, and they may only get caught for one. Many end up abusing children again after they are released and are allegedly "rehabilitated".

Family Court Corruption

In cases of domestic abuses, parents might divorce, with one parent desperately trying to get custody. But whoever is friendly to the court and judge will tend to win custody, while the desperate parent who is trying to keep their child safe may lose custody and the child remains in the hands of the abusive parent.

If you complain or make allegation during divorce, you're not "friendly" to the court. There is no jury, its all the judge who decides. 85% of parents that report abuse to courts will lose custody and get placed under supervised visitation in order to see their children. They also have to pay for the visitation, between $40 and $200/h in some cases.

Kids as Commodities - Kids for Cash

Judges have been caught having conflict of interest when dealing with so-called troubled children. In Pennsylvania on judged was deeming children to have behavioral issues, and then sending them to a juvenile delinquent facility that he was part owner of. They have been making money by kidnapping and exploiting the lives of children as commodities. This is human trafficking under the cover of law.

It's a big business to be involved in, as the cost for state care of children can run up to $1,000,000. Doctors make claims that a child is unstable and needs "extra care", such as the need for constant supervision, to be placed in some facility, to need psychotropic drugs, or need whatever they say in order to get money from the state and taxpayers.

Brainwashing Camps

Stefano's investigations had her uncover one case of a judge sending children to behavioral modification camps, which is a euphemism for a brainwashing camp. This is done because a child is deemed to not be "behaving" or doing what they are told. On child had shock treatment applied with payments forced onto mother at $7,000 per week. That mother was still paying for it after their child had reached 23 years old. She was forced to pay for treatment she didn't know about or where it was, only the judge knew.

Political Power

Judges can seal cases so no one -- not the parents or public -- can know what happened in the case. The power judges hold over children is a recipe for corruption. Kids are turned into cash-cows as abuses in power permit children to continue to be abused while they are allegedly being protected and made safe from their parents or themselves.

The corruption is hard to deal with, as their are heavy hitters in society that are involved and the media is pressured to stop covering stories after they first hit the air:

"What we are finding now is this trafficking is a lot bigger, and a lot more involved politically than we care to look at, or the media won’t cover. Everybody is afraid because there are some really big heavy hitters that are very influential that are involved... The child trafficking industry, or human trafficking industry right now, makes more money than the illegal drug trade, and illegal arms trade, combined."

Stefano also believes that people inside the foster care system are involved in helping child trafficking and sexual abuse from continuing. Of the children that leave the system after 18 years old, it's estimated that 65-70% of them end up being captured by human trafficking syndicates. This could only happen with concerted effort and information obtained about these children. Where else could they get it if not from the foster parents or organizations like CPS?
