Just a Check-In Post
I know that you guy's have all been worried sick about me and what I have been up to, so I thought it would be good to send out just a regular check in post to let you guy's know what I have been doing. I will be back to writing my life story in sections soon, and also just in general writing about the recovery related issues that I have stuck to since becoming a member of Steemit.
So what ya been doing anyway?
You guy's know I am the resident manager of a Christian Transitional Housing program and I go to school full time as well. These activities on their own are a handful for sure. My job seems to give me more and more responsibility as time goes on. I really get a feeling of accomplishment when they ask me to take on more, but it is also stressful at times.
Add in the end of the semester at school and final projects being due...
I go to school for Digital Media Audio and Cinema (DMAC) and it is super fun (Mostly). One of my classes this semester was pre-production design and it was super hard. I am still teetering right on the 4.0 range for the class, but I have high expectations for myself. Our final project was a production book showing that we are proficient in all aspects of production planning. Treatment and screenplay writing, storyboards using the Frameforge program, and budgeting using Excel.
My final project was 125 pages...
I also took the first level Video production class this semester which I really enjoyed (And seemed to have a knack for honestly). My instructor was the head of the department and he used my "Infomercial" as an example to the rest of the class, and also posted it to the DMAC website (Which was super cool!) If you want to see it you can go --HERE-- He also had me do some voice-overs for his other classes to use as well.
I took intro to Piano and Music for Media and the Stage as well. They were both very cool and I will post my final project from those classes soon. Well the Media and the Stage class anyway...
In November I was called by a friend that works in the local day shelter that I used to go to when I was homeless. She is the director of the drop in shelter and knows the changes I have been making in my life. She wanted me to fill out an application to be a "Board Member At Large" on their Board of Directors. I did and I was accepted. I am now a Board Member at Large at the Justice In Mental Health Organization (JIMHO) drop in shelter. Just think I used to go there to get out of the cold when I was homeless, and now I am on the Board of Directors, God is Good!
A question for you guys...
I normally write about my life, and also recovery. I have had a pretty good response from you regarding this, but I was wondering....If I tried my hand writing some short fiction, would you guy's be interested in reading it? I have a few Science Fiction story ideas floating around, and I would like to try them out, but I don't want to go too far from my "Roots" you know? Can you please tell me what you think?
Break!
So this is my last real week of school and I will be on break until January 8th (Thank you Jesus!) I look forward to writing and posting more during that time, and I hope you will continue to read my attempts. Thank you and God Bless!!

Short fiction sounds great! I went to school for video production many moons ago and loved it. I use these skills now on the new videos/courses we make and almost every job I've had I end up as the default video guy! Good to hear from you.
I hope I can get a job doing it in the future
I think you've already found the platform mate! Create your own job here through Steemit. Create short films and post them to dtube.
