3 REAL Things to Do on Christmas This Year
Preface
We all spend our lives focusing on ourselves with little to no regard for people around us.. I am not saying that the most of us are selfish or self-centred. It is just that with so much happening in our lives, we often neglect the ones who deserve our attention the most..
Even though most of us want to do something good yet somehow we end up exhausting the entire 24 hours of a day on ourselves.
The Spirit of Christmas has Faded Away
Even though i am not a Christian, yet i can totally appreciate the true spirit of Christmas, which is, to share our happiness and to bring smiles on faces of people.
However as of late, I have started to feel that Christmas has become more of a self-centred and fictitious activity where a bunch of people are willing to spend a fortune on setting up their homes and wearing ridiculously expensive outfits but will never share some of that happiness with the needy.
I may be wrong but that's how i feel..
So this brings me to my topic. I am going to list down 3 Real things that you can do to commemorate the true spirit of Christmas this year:-
Well i think this doesnt need any explanation. However, i will say this... We all tend to give away our old clothes to poor as hand me downs, but please bear in mind that poor are not animals whom you can feed left overs and donate old clothes all the time..
So make use of this Christmas as a reason to buy some new clothes and quality food as a present to those who cannot afford to celebrate. Make them feel special too.. Make them smile...
I am sure you will find that this requires ultimate dedication to the cause, but what better Christmas gift there is than the gift of education to a child.
If you know a hardworking student, who wants to study further but can't due to financial issues, support them. You will not believe the amount of satisfaction and happiness that this step will give you. And you will be able to sleep better by paying your due back to the community.
Applying for Volunteer work will not only induce humbleness in your personality but you will also get a chance to serve people. Try putting yourself in shoes of those who serve you on daily basis in their capacity, you'll see how tough life can be for a human being in this materialistic world.
Volunteering and helping others can also help you reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. So it is beneficial for you as well.
Conclusion
Holidays and festivals are a wonderful time of the year. Its the time when we all get to relax a bit by putting aside our work stress and daily hustle. So this might be the best time for you to play your part to make this world a better place and be a source of someone's smile.
Be happy and spread happiness and good cheer to all throughout the year.
